      Having being involved in the security industry for over 30 years designing, installing and maintaining all forms of physical and electronic security systems in an ever changing industry and with technology playing a greater role it became increasing apparent that there didn't appear to be an unbiased, impartial central resource for accurate information regarding standards, accreditation and which products would actually achieve the desired results.

      The Security Advice Forum aims to resolve this problem by offering comprehensive topics and threads where the industries manufacturers, distributors and installers offer their expert impartial advice.

      Whether you're a Security Manager with a specific security issue on your site, a home owner looking for advice on how best to secure your home or an installation/service engineer who needs help with a particular product the Security Advice Forum will aim to provide you with the accurate advice you need.

      Do you have a security issue, and need some free advice ?

      Click on the 'Forum' tab, above, to be taken to the site forums pages. Here you'll find existing threads divided into seperate security categories. You do not need to register with the site to be able to read exising threads and posts.

      Alternatively, if you can't find what you're looking for you will need to complete the registration form which will then allow you to use the search field in the top right hand corner of this page to search the results of previously answered queries, or post a new thread in one of the forums.

You'll then be able to search for an installer by discipline, approved accreditation and postcode locality to you. You do not need to register with the site to be able to use the supplier search facility.

      Do you ever find yourself working on unfamiliar equipment without any instructions available ? Do you need help choosing security products and what would best suit your customers requirements ? Your local supplier or sales rep will obviously promote the products they sell, but is this the best product for the job, at the best price ?


      Talk to other installers about products they have installed and get feedback of the pros and cons of a product before you decide.
